The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal car accident which occurred on Wednesday night on the 15 Freeway in Ontario, California. At 10:53 p.m., officers arrived on the scene, which effectively closed all but one southbound lane of the freeway north of the Jurupa Avenue exit. Officers from the CHP Inland Division and the Ontario Fire Department arrived to discover that a truck overturned and at least one person died. CHP issued a SigAlert at 11:14 p.m., effectively closing all but one lane of the highway. Officers report the person who likely caused the crash fled the scene. The hit-and-run driver remains at large.
